Testimonials

EAST TRENTHAM

We are so grateful to you Jamie for building us such a magnificent home and taking us through the journey so well.  Building a large French Colonial home was not easy – there were difficult areas technically to be sorted out which you did extremely well.  We always felt we were in safe hands – from the beginning contracting stage to the end of the project.

Neville and I have felt it has been a wonderful collaboration with you.  You wanted our house to be just as good as we did. We are so glad you were our builder. We felt you were very committed to helping us build our dream home that fulfilled our vision.

You have been very fair and honest with us - you treated us with integrity the whole time and appreciated that we were the same in our approach with you.

We feel very lucky to have benefited from your skills, experience, maturity and wisdom. You listened well, explained issues well and gave us options where possible, to enable appropriate decisions to be made. You were always planning in advance to give us enough time to research and decide on products to be used. You also came up with great design solutions (big and small) throughout the project that worked technically but also aesthetically.

You brought with you a wonderful team. Their workmanship was faultless and all were very polite to us. They were all committed to doing an excellent job.

Lastly we appreciate the way you worked through problems with us as they occurred. You could not have handled them better.

RESIDENTIAL

BARFOLD

Jamie Zoch of Callaway Constructions has been building our house since after the bushfires of 2009. The building planning process started difficult because of all the new regulations plus the disappointment I felt with not being able to have what I had before the fires. Jamie has gone above and beyond to help both of us with the new building process. The house that we have now is a masterpiece, the workmanship is of the highest quality and there is not one thing that I would now change.

Jamie and his team are caring and very helpful. They are easy to get along with and this shows in the house that has been built. Consideration has been given to what we had and can not have now, advice was given so that everything works together perfectly. Jamie is methodical and thorough and can be relied on to produce a first-rate results.

We have no hesitation in recommending Callaway Constructions. You will get a first-class building with a first-class builder. I cannot speak too highly of Jamie. I don’t know what I would have done without him, he has helped me in more ways than he will ever know.

WOODEND

Having met Jamie during the build of The Norma Richardson Hall I was confident he was the kind of builder we wanted to work with. A great communicator who keeps you informed along the process is what we wanted and exactly what we got. We've already recommended Jamie to three friends since he finished our renovations/build in March.

We engaged Jamie of Callaway Constructions to build our new home. From the moment we met Jamie we knew we were in good hands. Our build was handled professionally by Jamie and of course, Nicole managing all of the 'important' work behind the scenes.

The excellent result of our home is a testament to Jamie and his Team. From start to finish, Jamie gave us regular updates on the progress of our build. When there were areas he thought could be done differently, he gave us valuable recommendations while maintaining clear and precise communication between us.

He adhered strictly to building regulations and maintained a clean and safe site. We always knew where we were regarding costs and invoices, which gave us a level of trust that ensures everyone is satisfied with the completed project.

We are extremely happy with our new home and Jamie's experience and professional approach to his work meant we had very little stress throughout the whole process. We look forward to working with him potentially in the future.

WOODEND

When we first contacted Jamie for a quote for our new home he was friendly and easily accessible. He would answer any of our questions promptly and he was open and honest from day one. Jamie's attention to detail is fantastic and he is a hands-on builder who oversees all aspects of the build. He was accommodating when we made changes and obliging when we wanted to add things that were not originally 'on the plans'.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Jamie to anyone requiring a reliable, hard-working builder. We are very happy with our Callaway Constructed home.

COMMERCIAL

ANGLICAN PARISH OF WOODEND

The original hall at St Mary's Anglican Church in Woodend was destroyed by fire. Following considerable discussion and debate by parishioners about what a replacement hall should look like, and subsequent advice from Macedon Ranges Shire Council's Heritage Advisor, a new hall was eventually designed by local architects Woodend Building Design.

The challenge now for the Hall Building Committee was to find a commercial builder who would be able to construct the new hall to the high standards expected by the Anglican Diocese of Bendigo and the Parish of Woodend and, importantly, within the prescribed budget.

Jamie Zoch of local builder Callaway Constructions was soon identified as the builder who had the necessary qualifications, experience and track record to, not only respond positively to our brief, but adhere to it in a professional and committed way.

Throughout the period of construction, Jamie's communication with our Project Manager was both timely and friendly. His level of professionalism and dedication to producing a high-quality multi-functional building was outstanding. Whenever changes to the original brief were deemed necessary, Jamie responded to these in a positive and cooperative manner. Suffice to say, the building was finished on time and within budget!

The result is a wonderful facility now named The Norma Richardson Hall. It is a venue that is enjoyed by all at St Mary's, as well as the wider community in Woodend and is used for a wide variety of functions. Thank you Jamie for your excellent work!

WOODEND CHILDREN'S PARK

The Woodend Children's Park project stands today as a major piece of social infrastructure in the heart of the Macedon Ranges...The talent within the town of professional skills, and the incredible generosity of these people allowed the park to be built largely in kind.

Jamie Zoch was one of these people who came forward to help and he joined the Construction Committee in the building phase, operating as the principal Building Contractor for the magnificent Barbecue Shelters and Robbies Lookout Tower that now host many of the town's gatherings today.

Jamie was an absolute joy to work with and brought a lot of laughter and a great attitude at a time when deadlines were tight and the weather was awful. He was an integral part of this project, and his legacy to the families who come together for a day at the park ensures that they are sitting in beautiful surrounding while watching their kids play...

RED ROCK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

Undertaking a school-building project was somewhat daunting; however, the experience couldn't have been more positive or successful. There are many more things to be aware of with a building project happening within school grounds with young children around. Yet it was never a concern with the Callaway team. Jamie maintained a safe and well-organised site; his team was terrific to have around. The project was completed in a timely and professional manner and within the constraints of our budget.

Throughout the project, Jamie was easy to communicate with and readily available. He was flexible with changes that needed to be made and contributed constructively to decisions that improved the overall project. Jamie's professional yet open and friendly manner kept the building experience stress free.

The students were so excited to move into their new classrooms and three years later they still feel new. Thanks to the Callaway team for our wonderful new school. We love it.
